An 87-year-old retired ethnographer from Newcastle will help create a medical history while doing his “duty,” and was one of the first people in the Western world to be vaccinated against Govt.

“I am very happy that we are coming towards the end of this epidemic and I am happy to do my best by getting vaccinated,” Hari Shukla said before getting his job. “I think it is my duty to do so and to do what I can to help.”

Shukla and his wife Ranjan, 83, will hold the first two injections of the Pfizer / Biotech vaccine at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Newcastle on Tuesday morning, a week after Britain became the first country in the West to approve a corona virus vaccine:
