Jordan’s allies in the Gulf region have said they support the Jordanian authorities following media reports of a possible plot. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said they were “in full solidarity” with Jordan. In a statement from the Emirates News Agency (WAM), he said the UAE “supports all measures taken by the King of Jordan, King Abdullah II … to ensure the security and stability of Jordan and any attempt to render them harmless.

Neighboring Saudi Arabia also expressed “full support … for the decisions and measures taken by King Abdullah II to ensure security and stability.”

The other four members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) – Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman – have also expressed their support in similar terms.
