Justin Baas criticizes the way of thinking within AZ. The twenty-year-old defender and midfielder played for the Alkmaarders between 2017 and 2020, but now plays football in Thailand.
In 2017, Feyenoord, Vitesse and AZ became interested in Baas services. He ultimately chose the Alkmaarders, but never made it through. “What I have a problem with is that they want to make you some sort of robot at the club,” he said in a conversation with International football. There is little room for another way of thinking. It’s like, “This is how it is in AZ, and this is how it should be …”
“At AZ, as a footballer, you are fully AZ programmed,” Baas continues. He sees the positive and negative sides of this approach. “It helps the players to move forward, but it is also more difficult for them to be successful at other clubs.”
Baas now plays football at Thai Ratchaburi Mitr Phol. He is happy there. “I come to the most beautiful places. And what I earn here, only the best players in the sub-plateau will have access to the Netherlands. The level is a little lower, but I have more fun playing football here. . Feel freer, happier. “
