Colorado mourns supermarket massacre, gunman Ahmad (21) continued: “It was terrifying” | Abroad

A 21-year-old man was charged with ten murders today after a supermarket shooting in Boulder, Colo. Authorities say they have yet to establish the motive for the massacre.




The suspect, Ahmad Alyssa, is in stable condition after being himself injured yesterday in a shootout with police officers at the Boulder store, about 28 miles northwest of Denver.

Victims

The ten victims are between 20 and 65 years old. One of them is Eric Talley, 51, who worked for the local police. Mayor Seam Weaver congratulates the servant on his heroic performance. “We cannot thank Agent Talley and his family enough for his sacrifice.” Talley, a father of seven, had recently started looking for less dangerous work, his father said.

Rikki Olds, 25, has also been identified by his family as one of the victims. “ We lost our beloved Rikki to the monster that shot in the King Soopers yesterday. May he burn in hell, ” the aunt wrote on Facebook.


Cold blooded

According to eyewitnesses, the shooter was cold-blooded in the supermarket. “He came and immediately started filming,” says one customer. The Denver Post. Another said the shooter “fired a few shots, then stopped, then moved on”.

Another customer, James Graham, told a local newspaper he could smell gunpowder. “It was the most terrifying event I have ever attended. It happened so fast and it was so loud. I am still in shock.

Local authorities reported today that the shooter was carrying a rifle, pistol and tactical vest. He had bought the rifle six days before the shoot.

Little is known about the shooter. He is originally from Arvada, Colorado and has lived most of his life in the United States.
