If the first game of the week involving the ranking team is any indication, we could be in another wild week of college football. Coastal Carolina beat 21st Louisiana 30-27 on Wednesday night to begin Week 7 action, with several ranked teams taking action against unnamed opponents. So while SEC No. 2 on the CBS Game of the Week will be heading to Alabama against Georgia on Saturday, a lot of other teams need to be more cautious in the games they want to win.
With matches involving the top-10 teams of SEC, PIG 12 and AAC postponed, both ACC central position 13th Miami and No. 1 Clemson are playing in the early waves of the day. Following the blow in Clemson’s hands, Hurricane Holds a Pittsburgh team, one point consecutive loss from 5-0. However, the Panthers will play without a starting quarterback. Meanwhile, the top-ranked Tigers will have to travel to Atlanta to face the yellow-jacketed team that hung 46 points in Louisville. Later in the day, No. 4 Notre Dame plays a couple of games in Louisville and 5th North Carolina Florida, which may show how well the fighting Irish and Thar Heels really deserve in their top rankings.
There’s a lot to cover up in between those games. CBS Sports will be there every step of the way to keep you updated with the latest scores, highlights and storylines throughout the day. East at all times
