“So, I don’t think we’ll be behind the curve as much as we thought we might be in the past,” he said.
Biden’s comments came a day after the GSA informed him that the Trump administration was ready to begin the formal transition process. His change team is now talking to all the federal agencies, a change official told CNN. Dr Anthony Fucci, the country’s top infectious disease doctor, said on Tuesday he had held preliminary talks with members of Biden’s team and looked forward to more important discussions in the future.
In anticipation of his administration on Tuesday, Biden vowed that his term was not “the third Obama term.”
“We face a completely different world than we did in the Obama-Biden administration,” he said. “President Trump has changed the landscape.”
He continued, “This is the United States first, this is the United States only. We find ourselves in a situation where our alliances are roasted. This is absolutely – that’s why I have seen individuals joining the administration and pointing the spectrum at the spectrum of the American people and the Democrats.”
When asked on Tuesday if he supports the investigation after Trump stepped down, as some Democrats have called, Biden vowed, “I will not do what this president is doing, I will use the judiciary as my vehicle to insist that something should happen.”
“There are a lot of inquiries I ‘ve read about it at the state level. There’s nothing I can do or can do about it.
“The middle class and working class people are being oppressed. That is my focus.”
And He asked if he had spoken to Sense. Regarding cabinet positions, Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, Biden said, “We already have significant representation among progressives in our administration, but there really is nothing on the table.”
However, he added that “taking someone out of the Senate and taking someone out of the House, especially a person as a result, must be a really tough decision.”
Biden told the NBC he was considering appointing Republicans who voted for Trump to his cabinet.
“I want this country to be united. The purpose of our administration is to reunite. We cannot continue this tough political dialogue. It must end,” Biden said.
Biden said tackling the corona virus infection would be his priority when he takes office, but said he would also take action on immigration and climate in his first 100 days.
“Many things are going to happen at once,” Biden said. “But the most important thing is to focus on those people who, as always, are the first victims when a crisis occurs, and the recovery will last.”
