When the McCormick family returned to their home in the Coromandel Valley in Adelaide on Wednesday night, they immediately realized something was wrong. The Guardian reports.

Mom Amanda McCormick initially thought it was a prank played by her kids.

According to Amanda, the wild animal may have wandered when the doors of their house were open, and “stayed in our house for at least three hours” when they were outside.
The crew called for help with the Adelaide and Hills Cola rescue, but even the hotline operator suspected it was a bear-y funny joke.

After some optimism, a rescue team was sent to separate the wild animal from the festive fir. Authorities determined it was a healthy 3- or 4-year-old girl, which Tayla affectionately named Daphne.
The group, which shared photos of the intruder on a Facebook post that is now viral, teased the creature as “wanting to get a Christmas feel”. Adelaide and Hills Cola Rescue co-founder Dee Hearn-Helen supported the request, explaining why Marsupial may have been inspired by the bright vision.
“It’s not really hot, so they do not look for shade, especially at this time … they are interested, they are in the suburbs, they will drop if they see something they want to see.
Soon, authorities released Dagney into the woods near McCormick’s home, which was found in a quick clip posted to Deila Dictok. Now, the family plans to keep an eye on their own Christmas deception.
