I have a 4090FE myself, but it really isn’t a quiet card IMHO. Above average audible at 1100 rpm, due to excessive rear fan turbulence (gives typical propeller noise) and at full load it whirls like any other video card (fans then go around 1500 – 2000 rpm).
This once again shows how subjective the sound experience/rating is.
What is called “extremely quiet production” with the Asus 4080 Noctua Edition, I would probably call it “normally quiet”.
It’s also because I have a full custom loop, where the system barely rises above the room noise floor at idle and can only be heard slightly under load (6 Noctua NF-A12x25 fans at 400-1000 rpm). And in a quiet room. That’s my definition of calm .
What I’m only wondering with this Asus 4080 Noctua edition is what the situation is with the amount of coil whine/noise, as there are a lot of complaints about this with the Strix builds (this will also be partly because the cooling is above average “quieter” and therefore much more noticeable).
I find this much more important than a meaningless dB(A) measurement.
