Exercise at home with a disability and switch from iOS to Android. These are the apps of the week.
Unique Sports
The new Unique Sports app is designed for people with disabilities who want to exercise at home. The application offers more than four thousand exercises for different levels. Both for training and for relaxing.
With the app, the Gehandicaptensport Fund wants to support people with different goals. Those who do not exercise yet, but want to try it in an accessible way, will find exercises in the app with clear explanations via animations and videos. The app is also for people who already exercise regularly, but also want to do it at home without access to devices. In addition, the application can be used by people who want to work on muscle building after a rehabilitation process.
If you need tools, the app tells you where to borrow or buy them. You can also connect with others with a similar disability for advice and inspiration. With these other athletes, there are also challenges, like who can burn a certain number of calories first.

loss application
Loss-App is made for parents who lost their baby during pregnancy or shortly after. According to the creators of the application, such people cannot always rely on an understanding of the outside world. Loss-App should help to learn to live with this loss.
In the app you can find medical and practical information, but also exercises that help overcome any negative thoughts you may have. These exercises can be completed by yourself or shared on a mood wall, so that other people can possibly learn something from them.
In the application it is possible to get in touch with other people who have experienced something similar. If you become friends, you can see each other’s Moodwall. Parents also provide information on how they are doing on a daily basis. A graph shows how this evolves over time.

Switch to Android
Google has put an app in the App Store for people who want to switch from iOS to Android. The app is called Switch to Android and was previously only available with a Google Pixel phone. Now, the app can be used with all smartphones running Android 12 or newer version of the operating system.
With the app it is possible to transfer data wirelessly between your old and new device. This concerns your contacts, calendar appointments, photos and videos. You can choose which parts you want to take with you. Apps are not transferred, so you have to download them manually.
The app also guides you through some settings. For example, how to turn off iMessage so you don’t miss any text messages. To get started, scan a QR code on the iPhone with your new Android smartphone.
Apple also offers a Move to iOS app in the Play Store for people who want to switch from Android to iOS.
