Anderson Cooper and Ina Gordon discuss the delights of peanut butter and jelly

Gordon, the star and author of the food network’s barefoot Candace ”s best cookbook, talked about cooking for comfort during challenging times along the “whole circle”.

Gordon reflected on how he interacted with fans through social media last year, including a viral video that mixed a huge universe.

“So, I started creating things to get people on Instagram, and then one day I thought, I think we all need a cocktail,” he says.

Anderson shared how much he enjoyed watching Garden’s show even though he didn’t want to cook, and admitted he made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner last night.

“I was very happy,” he said. “I loved it.”

Gordon also developed a new appreciation for the time-honored principal.

“I have to say at the beginning of the epidemic, that was (my husband) Jeffrey and I. And I didn’t think I would have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I mean, my mom never did them. We stayed that way, which was great.”

Current culprit pleasures include soups and stews, including a unique twist on a classic recipe he shares in his new book “Modern Comfort Food”.

“I wanted to make it look like a classic American beef stew, but I usually switched the boring beef to short ribs, which was more flavorful. Then I borrowed ingredients from French beef porcupine and lots of red wine and some cognac and it was satisfying.”
