Feel Good Contacts, a leading contact lens specialist in the United States, has researched the brightest cities in the world. The analysis looked at 50 cities around the world, looking at average hours of daylight, levels of air pollution, and so-called man-made light levels.
What seems? Amsterdam is not yet that bright … Our capital finished 44th out of 50, making it one of the ten darkest cities in the world. The seventh, to be exact.

The darkest city in the world is Bogotá in Colombia. The average daily sunshine hours here are just 3.64. The brightest city in the world is Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, with 8.84 hours of sunshine per day on average.
The other cities in the top 10 darkest places are Reykjavík (Iceland), Luxembourg, Ljubljana (Slovenia), Wellington (New Zealand), Vilnius (Lithuania), Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria) and Taipei (Taiwan) ).
Saudi Arabia is actually a huge desert and therefore receives an immense amount of sunshine just like Riyadh, which is located in this desert.
