Sailing: Huisman retains America’s Cup with Team New Zealand

07:21 Team New Zealand, with Dutch sailor Carlo Huisman on board, clinched the overall victory in the America’s Cup at the expense of Italian sailing team Luna Rossa. With great public interest in Auckland, coxswain Peter Burling’s team also won the tenth race. This took the best-of-13 series lead at 7-3.

For Team New Zealand, it was the fourth triumph in the prestigious battle for the ‘Auld Mug’, the cup first awarded in 1851. The trophy also went to New Zealand in 1995, 2000 and 2017.

Huisman was part of the winning team for the second time. Four years ago he won the 35th America’s Cup under Burling off Bermuda. At the time, the New Zealand team beat the US team 7-1.
