Amazon released its Hollow Health and Fitness Tracker in the summer, which integrates with an AI-powered app to give users insights about their overall health – but it also seems to be a shame for wearers.
Washington Post Released a report that the technology points to defects such as excessive voice or excess body fat.
Wearable has a small microphone that hears your voice, allowing you to determine the tone and share descriptions such as ‘concept’ or ‘repression’.
Users can upload a nude image of themselves in the sub-app, which is analyzed by AI to determine their body composition.
The app not only shows the body fat percentage, but also shows how users will be after shedding a few pounds.

Jeffrey Fowler and Heather Kelly with The Washington Post were able to get a pre-release experience with Hollow, which they say gives Amazon more data about you than helping it stay healthy.
Amazon revealed Hollow in August, which detects emotion through speech analysis, monitors sleep by heart rate and monitors activity based on intensity and duration of movement.
Hollow is not available to the public, only by calling for its ‘initial access’ release, but is priced at $ 99 with a monthly subscription fee of $ 3.99.
The watch resembles a Fitbit than the Apple Watch, with a band and sensor housing capsule inside.

The capsule integrates the device because it has a range of sensors that collect the wearer’s accurate information, which is calculated on the basis of their health intelligence.
There is an accelerometer, temperature sensor, heart rate monitor, two microphones, an LED indicator light and a button to turn the microphones on or off.
Unlike both Fitbit and Apple, Halo shares detailed readings – even if you don’t want to hear them.
Fowler and Kelly each reviewed a band with an additional goal of seeing if the wearer has the ability to determine gender – a skill that is important for analyzing the tone of voice and fat mix.
As Halo learns, it begins to organize conversations into positive or negative with more or less energy. If technology records a voice as negative and low energy, an example of what words AI determines to describe the tone, it can be classified as ‘motivation’
During the voice test, Halo described Fowler’s voice as ‘commentary’, while Kelly’s voice was marked as ‘discount’ and ‘repression’ – explanations appear in the sub-application.
This feature works by constantly listening to the user’s voice, which allows them to recognize their sounds and tones.

The Washington Post notes that Amazon has used this power to train its tone AI for many years using real voice recordings and has conducted extensive experiments with the hope of weeding out the dependencies that may arise depending on the user’s race, gender or age.
The Hollow Privacy Policy states that Amazon will not sell data captured and used by wearables without the user’s permission. But according to The Washington Post, the policy does not say that the technology company cannot profit from it.
However, Fowler and Kelly found that AI repeats interpretations such as ‘focus,’ ‘curiosity,’ and ‘knowledge’.
Negative terms Fowler received ‘comment’, ‘harsh’ and ‘reluctance’ and Kelly ‘discount’, ‘stubborn’, ‘harsh’ and ‘inferior’.
Users will be told they are undesirable and Hollow will be aware of them about body fat.
The app allows users to upload an image of themselves, which is in the underwear, and transforms it into a 3D render that appears more or less with body fat.
This system is not designed to provide customized programs or recommendations to help improve the wearer’s physique.
However, it also shows a person’s current body fat percentage and weight in use.

An e-commerce agent, for example, can improve its health mechanisms by using your heart rate, sleep and tone.
