Sony is working hard to film its games. Uncharted is of course the long-term project to see on the big screen in early 2022. Additionally, work is underway on a TV series around The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima will sooner or later hit theaters as well.
The question at the time of release is whether we can visit theaters, given that this remains uncertain due to the pandemic. If that’s not an option everywhere, there will be an alternative for at least the Uncharted and Ghost of Tsushima movies, which will appear on Netflix.
Variety reports that Sony Pictures and Netflix have signed an agreement to offer the films through the streaming platform after the theatrical release ends. So, no matter what happens around the theatrical release, both films will at least be released at home sometime later.
The only thing in this story is that the deal only applies to the United States for the time being, so it remains to be seen how that plays out in Europe. However, it is possible to switch to the US offer very easily via a VPN, should the need arise in due course.
