Brad Pitt and Damson Idris also appeared on the grid ahead of the British Grand Prix. The two movie stars lined up alongside Max Verstappen during the national anthem, which allowed Pitt to shake hands with the two-time world champion in the most humble way.
Pitt was in Silverstone with his film crew this weekend shooting his Formula 1 film Apex. To appear as realistic as possible, various shots were taken during official Formula 1 moments. For example, Pitt’s APXGP car appeared on the grid for the formation lap and he and fellow actor Idris were also lined up at the alongside the other pilots for the national anthem. Pitt took his place next to Verstappen, of whom he is a huge fan. During last year’s United States Grand Prix, Pitt had already visited Verstappen in the Red Bull pit. “Man, it’s a joy to watch you run,” Pitt said at the time.
Pitt humbly shakes hands with Verstappen
That Pitt has a lot of respect for Verstappen was also evident yesterday when he took a moment to shake Verstappen’s hand. However, he did it in a way known as submission and humility. Pitt grabbed Verstappen’s hand with both hands and made himself smaller for the Red Bull driver. Politicians also regularly use this way of shaking hands to give the impression of reliability and honesty. In any case, it gave a nice picture, see below.
