If bottle caps (IV-changing items) ever come to Pokémon GO, it won’t be by chance

For those who haven’t played the original games, Bottle Caps are items that allow you to adjust a Pokemon’s stats. And in Pokémon GO, as players, we care even more about those stats. Since the game’s release, original Pokémon players in particular have been hoping for the bottle caps. In a recent interview, Michael Steranka, head of the Pokémon GO department at Niantic, said he couldn’t say anything about their arrival, but shared his insight.

According to him, if Bottle Caps were to happen, it wouldn’t be like this. It won’t be an item that will help you reach your goals faster (a good Pokemon), but a different way to reach those goals. So you really have to do something about it.
