Apple Valley, California. (KABC) – It was a happy farewell, it almost did not happen.

Randy Smith of Apple Valley was one of 10 family members who contracted the novel Corona virus in a backyard barbecue in Fontana – and as he was very close to death, doctors said goodbye to his wife.

Now Smith is going home after three months in the hospital.

“Thank God,” he said. “It’s life and death. I turned this into this page.”

“I had lung collapse, pneumonia,” he recalled. “I had a stroke.”

Dr. Nicole Hanrahan, medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Murrida, added that Smith developed “acute respiratory distress, requiring two chest tubes and a tracheostomy for breathing.”

He had to publish how to walk, talk, and eat.

When things got worse, the family believed that prayer saved his life.

Now, he and his family have survived, four of whom have been admitted to hospital, while others are asked not to follow their path.
